How it all started

While accomplishments matter, so does the story of humble beginnings-the foundation that shapes our journey.

Albert Uresti was born in San Antonio’s Westside and is the oldest of nine siblings. Albert’s father was a self-employed truck driver and business owner, and his mother balanced raising a family while assisting in the business.

Albert and his wife Elsie have been married over 50 years and have three children and four grandchildren.

While raising a family and working full-time, Albert received his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University and his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Albert served in the San Antonio Fire Department for 25 years and quickly rose up the ranks to District Fire Chief. He also served as a City Manager in surrounding communities for over seven years.

Albert has devoted himself to his community’s Senior Citizens, Disabled Citizens, and Veterans as a civic leader, advocate, and volunteer. Albert has also been actively involved in youth, school, church, and sports programs for over four decades.

Albert has over 45 years of city, county, and state work experience and has devoted his last eleven plus years to serving as the Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector.
